Control anger before it
controls you!
We are all well aware of anger, we’ve all
been there, fleeting annoyance or a full- fledged rage……
Well, anger is completely healthyhuman
emotion. Only when it exceeds its
limits, as and when it gets out of control it can turn destructive and even
fatal: Be it at your workplace, home, professional as well as personal
relationships- diminishes the entire quality of life.
Do you feel too angry frequently???? If yes,
then we need to take care of the intensity of angry feelings, need to find
better ways to control anger which could be frightening and damaging.
Anger management is a tool to reduce
emotional anxiety and emotional feelings that anger causes. We cannot change
people or things that enrage us but we can surely learn to control our actions.
Anger
tantrums especially in ‘millennials’who are impulsive, impatient and cannot
accept a ‘no’ is the cause of major concern. We cannot blame them instead we
need to accept them the way they are. it is just that this generation is wired differently.
We need to accept their unique personalities, likes and dislikes and understand
that their brain is actively developing therefore they process information
differently.
Constant arguments, violence at home,
skippingschools, fights are the common outcomes of anger turning violent
resulting in tragic situations.
Identify the problems and deal with anger
issues. If you feel angry often and struggle hard to control your feelings then
a professional help is the key….Take a look and try using one technique next
time you become angry….Incase it helps ,consider keeping it in the mind as a
tool and use it as and when required…. However if it does not help , pick up
another one and try that one out. Remember to find the one that helps and works
best for us. There is no right or wrong formulae to control anger, we just need
to find the one which gets us out of the difficult situation we land in owing
to our anger related issues.
1)Expressing
yourself and always use the right words: learn to be vocal about your thoughts
and no matter how hard it gets always use the right words to express your
disagreements. Raising your voice leads nowhe
2) self-awareness
and self-control are most in demand to take charge of ourselves as: Words once
spoken can never be repaired. Think before you speak.
3)Deep
breathing is a relaxation technique that helps control anxiety and anger.
4) Identify
the triggers and stay guarded of those trigger points. Precaution is better
than cure.
5) Always
use positive affirmations: what you think is what you become.
6)Do
not let situations and people control you. Both are harmless without your
reaction.
7)Distractions
are necessary in such instances whether it is music or chanting mantras to gain
internal peace which would eventually smoothen outer aggression.
No matter how much pain or
turmoil we might be experiencing, the situation will get better.
Nothing is permanent. We
shall overcome the problems and all shall be settled peacefully.
There is always a tomorrow
when the sun shines brighter than yesterday!!!!!
